Back to Edgar Street next week

Hereford United players are due to start training for the coming season next Monday July 2nd. At present there are just eleven players signed on but with last season's contracts ending at the end of this week, news on the transfer front will be forthcoming.

Just two players from last season's squad, Dean Beckwith and Trent McClenahan, have not made public their decision to accept or reject new offers from manager Graham Turner. Beckwith is thought to be close to a deal but McClenahan perhaps less likely to stay at Edgar Street after Turner said last week that he hadn't heard anything from the Australian who is on Olympic Duty.

Even if they do sign, Turner will still be looking for as many as another thirteen or so players. How many of these will be transfers and how many loans remains to be seen.

To date the following players will be putting on their Hereford United kit next week:

Ben Smith
Steve Guinan
Richard Rose
Clint Easton
Kris Taylor
Karl Broadhurst
Sam Gwynne
Simon Johnson
Jack Macleod
Craig Jones
Matty Done

Over the past few weeks several other players have been linked with the Bulls. However only two of them, Gary Hooper and Toumani Diagouraga who were both on-loan at Edgar Street last season, are known to be considering deals at Edgar Street.

Meanwhile West Bromwich Albion are expected to bring a 'select' team to Edgar Street on August 1st. They have another friendly the following afternoon at Swansea which is a testimonal match for Swan's Kristian O'Leary.
