Preview: Leeds vs Bulls

The Bulls travel to Yorkshire to face Leeds United in a League One match on Saturday.

The only competitive meetings between the sides were last season when the Bulls overcame the higher graded side in an FA Cup replay at Elland Road with a third minute Lionel Ainsworth strike - the only goal of the two matches between the sides. Less than half the expected gate on Saturday were in attendance for that match.

Leeds' inevitable march towards the Championship has not been quite as dominant as some were expecting having won only one of their three home League matches so far, hammering Crewe 5-2 in their most recent home game, but they lie third in the table and on course for a high finish despite only getting a single point from home games against Oldham and Bristol Rovers. Striker Jermaine Beckford has already scored eleven times in just ten games this season, six of them in the last four League matches.

The Bulls go north looking for a first away point with a heavily depleted squad. While Jamie Pitman's departure from Forest Green has hit their form, the workload in the treatment room seems to have increased rapidly since his arrival. With Robbie Threlfall back at Liverpool and out for several weeks, Pitman still finds himself occupied with problems with Andy Williams, Steve Guinan, and Sam Oji although Moses Ashikodi is reported to be back in training.

Leeds United vs Hereford United, Elland Road, Saturday 27th September, 3.00pm.
