The rules for naming the starting XI for tomorrow's Johnstone's Paint Trophy match indicate that six of the eleven must be among those with the most starting appearances for the club this season.
Toumani Diagouraga (10) heads the XI with the most starts, followed by Richard Rose (9), Ben Smith, Darren Randolph, and Dean Beckwith (all 8), Kris Taylor (7), Bradley Hudson-Odoi and Stephen O'Leary (both 6), Moses Ashikodi, Matt Done, Steve Guinan, Simon Johnson, Sam Oji, and Richard Jackson (all 5).
Under the rules only eight of Saturday's starting XI would be considered to be regulars with both central defenders and striker Andy Williams not considered to be regular fixtures although there is little clarity in the actual wording of the rules with regards to loan players or those that have been previously injured with Rule 7.3 of the FL handbook stating:
"Each club shall play it's full available strength in all matches. The Board will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes full available strength. Any club failing to meet this requirement will be rewuired to pay a fine of up to £5.000"
