The Bulls travel to Boundary Park on Sunday to face Oldham Athletic in a League One match.
It is 31 years since the Bulls faced the Latics in competitive action when in April 1977 a soon to be relegated Bulls side won one of only two away victories that season with a 5-3 scoreline at Boundary Park after the reverse fixture the previous November being a goalless draw.
Oldham suffered a bleak summer as sponsors went bust left, right, and centre with many thinking they would be forced to sell off their talents to survive the season. However they've launched into the season with vigour, currently lying third in the table and unbeaten at home having scored eleven times in their four matches. Midfielder Chris Taylor heads the scoring charts with six after scoring only five all season last term.
The Bulls go north on the back of five straight defeats. Losing is a habit that needs to be kicked and when your only goal in three games is a gift from the keeper then the forwards are the ones to be looked at. While Matt Done and Bradley Hudson-Odoi have received praise for their performances, and Moses Ashikodi has silenced some of his critics over the last two matches, the jury remains out on Nick Chadwick after a trio of indifferent performances.
Oldham Athletic vs Hereford United, Boundary Park, Sunday 12th October, 2.00pm.
