Wrexham fans enjoy their trip to Forest Green

Is Forest Green Rovers everyone's second favourite club? Probably not, but many Hereford United supporters used to enjoy their visits to the Lawn and now it appears Wrexham fans have discovered how enjoyable a trip to the top of Gloucestershire can be.

Last weekend the Dragons came back with a 3-2 win and many of them commented on the day on the red-passion board. Here are a few:

"It was a great trip yesterday. The chairman was in charge of the car parking (Take note Geoff), lovely social club and more than adequate facilities. Atmosphere was a bit up and down but hardly surprising really. Chant of the day was when the steward tripped up the stairs; cue chorus of "One Norman Wisdom""

"It was a good day all round , fgr ground was spotless facilities were excellent and there fans were very welcoming and the 1664 was delicous in the village.....all that and being so close to the pitch when the winner went in just added to the atmosphere...."

"Thanks FGR, what a great day out, that is an example of how a football club should be run and how fans should behave.

"There was no "all footie fans are animals" paranoia from their club, we were all welcomed in their bar The Green Man, kids were welcome, brilliant bangers, mash and onion gravy for £3, and a nice friendly atmosphere.

The stewards laughed and joked with us, and as has been noted, the chairman was in charge of car parking!!

Its a surreal place to go, my sat nav took me to the ground via narrow country lanes, when all of a sudden this football stadium appears."

"A good day out and worth the 9.45am start from West Wales. Lovely pint in the village pub in Nailsworth town centre. The stewards, Police and the club in general were first class. I wouldn't like to walk from the town to the ground up that hill! . The place was so high it had it's own micro climate. I wish FGR all the best for the season (bar one fixture!)"

"...Lovely part of the country

..."The Village Pub" had a great "bacon and cheese sandwich in brown bread" - and the Nailsworth Brewery ales in there were worth the trip!

...everyone was really friendly - the stewards and police included - the club Chairman was directing traffic in the car-park! there were 391 Wxm supporters (in a gate of 1219 I think?) , it tipped down with rain, they allowed Wxm fans into their clubhouse (unlike Salisbury, for instance) and it was all very good humoured!

One of the Stewards asked me if I had any weapons in my rucksack - I said "No!", shaking my head gravely - to which he responded "That steward over there is selling them if you want any!"

Hahhaaa! That sort of typifies the good-natured atmosphere."
