News Round Up

Worcester require £80,000 of funding in short term to survive their immediate cash crisis. Chairman Anthony Hampson will meet with the bank today after receiving only £500 in donations during Saturday's match. Administration has not been ruled out. Scunthorpe have offered defender Andrew Wright a new six month deal when his current contract ends in just over a week.

Swindon are claimed to have reopened talks with Sheff Utd player/coach Gary Speed over their manager's job after first choice Richard Money had unspecified clauses in his Newcastle contract that blocked the deal. Chairman Andrew Fitton has expressed an interest in ex-Leeds boss Gary McAllister but Speed, who may be forced to retire from playing due to injury, has already been interviewed.

Leeds have parted company with assistant boss Steve Staunton this morning, and hope to announce their new boss in the next 48 hours with Gus Poyet claimed to be the no.1 target. Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace has warned of massive cuts to the club's budget after suffering 'staggering' losses in the first six months of the financial year. They posted a £75,000 profit for last season, but Wallace will slash budgets for both 2009 and 2010.

No Bulls in the Team of the Week. There were three nods for Leyton Orient, and two each for MK Dons, Leicester, and Stockport.
