Hereford United will play their first game in 2009 tomorrow at Edgar Street where Oldham Athletic will be the visitors. The last action was on the Sunday before New Year at Leicester where the Bulls lost 2-1.
Since then the home game against Leeds and the away game at Scunthorpe have both been postponed because of frosty conditions.
Manager Graham Turner is expected to give new loan signing Sam Hewson a place in the matchday squad. Hewson a 20 year old 'creative' midfielder who likes to push forward is from Manchester United.
However whilst Turner has several possible combinations all across midfield, he has less options up front as two forwards recently left the club. Nick Chadwick has moved to Shrewsbury and Moses Ashikodi has returned to Watford. A third forward, Bradley Hudson-Odoi, has had little pitch action for some weeks.
So it looks as though Turner will give both Steve Guinan and Andy Williams a start tomorrow unless even at this late hour the Hereford United manager announces a new striker has joined the club.
In the heart of defence Turner may chose captain Karl Broadhurst to partner Josh Gowling leaving Dean Beckwith on the bench.
Three players are unlikely to feature. Stephen O'Leary is still recovering from a back injury and whilst both Sam Oji and Richard Jackson have returned to training neither is expected to take any part in tomorrow's match.
Meanwhile season ticket holders have been requested to use voucher number 13 for this game. The number 12 voucher will be used for the Leeds rearranged game on February 17th.
Finally as reported earlier this week there are said to be a few spare tickets for the Leeds game in both the Meadow End and the Len Weston Stand. The office will be open before the game tomorrow for anyone who might like to purchase a ticket.
