Carlisle Date to be Changed

Despite Hereford United announcing that the postponed game at Carlisle will take place on March 24th it appears that is now not the case.

Discussions are reported to be taking place between the two clubs as March 24th is in the middle of an international week.

Whilst Carlisle were happy with the date, Hereford United now want it changed.

"We accepted that advice from the Football League and, even though it is likely that Michael Liddle will be called up for duty with the Republic of Ireland, we decided that we were happy with 24 March," said a spokesman for Carlisle.

"However, the Hereford keeper (Peter Gulacsi, in on-loan from Liverpool) is a Hungarian international and is also likely to be called up, so they are not prepared to take the risk on the game being played on that date."

Possible dates are February 24th or a Tuesday sometime in April.
