Bulls Set For New Catering Deal

Bulls fans are set for a new taste adventure after a local company secured the catering franchises at Edgar Street for the next three seasons.

The company has won the franchise from Lindley Catering after securing additional funding through the Government's 'Change 4 Life' campaign to outbid the unpopular franchise monolith. The campaign advocates healthy eating and excercise and piloted a scheme with Newcastle United this season.

At Newcastle the scheme promoted healty eating and excercise under a scheme called Lean East. Dr Danny Ruta, Director of Public Health at Newcastle Primary Care Trust said of the scheme: “Lean East has shown us that children and their parents need guidance on healthy eating and cooking healthy meals. Providing this guidance and setting up training programmes in collaboration with Newcastle United FC and Newcastle Eagles, has produced incredible results."

The menu at Edgar Street is to undergo changes for next season under the guidance of Change 4 Life. Out will go the traditional footballing fare of meat pies and sausage rolls, with the likes of pasta bakes and vegetarian pasties replacing them. When quizzed about the largely non-meat content of the menu a company spokesman, Dr Regi Terriene, said "Considering the fare offered by the previous franchisee, we don't think anyone will notice."
