With the annual accounts due out any day now, Hereford United manager Graham Turner has spoken about the club's finances and how much more stable they are compared with the dark days when the club was close to going broke.
"It's hard work in this climate running a football club. We've worked hard to make sure we keep costs at a level we can afford.
"We had a good cup run. We sold two players. We tried to spend some of that money in the closed season but failed.
"Sometimes we sat in the boardroom in the dark days wondering where we could afford to pay the players from, wondering where the money was coming from.
"We swore blind that the club would be stabilised financially and we would pay a level of wages we could afford.
"So it's looking solid. And it looks as though if there is going to be a real storm in football from a financial point of view which everybody is predicting, certainly over the next few years, we can ride out any real hard storm over the next couple of years and not worry about looking over our shoulders.
"At least supporters will know that we are financially stable and we can ride out this financial storm."
Turner's quotes come from his latest OS interview.
