The Bulls have announced the signing of 6ft 4in Cardiff defender Darren Dennehey on loan.
The Irish 20 year old has signed a month long loan with the club after spending a couple of weeks on trial, playing in the recent training match against Bristol Rovers. He is a former Everton trainee, joining Cardiff last summer.
The following is from Everton's official site: After joining the Academy in 2005, Darren moved from the under 18 side and progressed into a reserve team regular for Andy Holden’s side. Comfortable at centre back or in midfield, Darren is also a threat from set-pieces as he is rarely out jumped by fellow players.
Born in Tralee, South-West Ireland, Darren also represented Ireland's under 21s during his time on Merseyside.
The Irish FA website describes him as a 'classy left-footed defender', playing alongside ex-Bulls Darren Randolph, Stephen Gleeson, and Garry Breen at various international levels. One of the Cardiff fan sites says he turned down a new contract at Everton to move to the Bluebirds and seek first team football.
