The Bulls entertain Bristol Rovers in a League One match on Tuesday night.
Straight from a match where the Bulls should have been thrashed, they now face an opponent that actually did it. The 6-1 demolition tore away any illusions that that team in August was adequate for League One and half of them have since been replaced. There should be little motivation needed to produce a performance against a Pirates side that has never recorded a win at Edgar Street.
The Bulls' have got one simple task to do on Tuesday - score first. On all 19 occasions this season the Bulls have gone behind they've not won once. It's the worst record in the division. When they do score first they tend to retain the lead, and concede substantially fewer goals in the process. We are the third best team in the division at retaining a lead in a match - all we have to do is to get into a lead more often.
Despite another round of expensive strikers, Bristol Rovers remain a lower mid-table side. Their annual six-figure spending on forwards finally came good as £200,000 acquisition Rickie Lambert has scored 21 goals this season after struggling to get into double figures in each of his first two seasons while this season's arrivals, Daryl Duffy and Jo Kuffour, appear to be following the same pattern with indifferent returns.
