We were out-muscled - Turner

In his post-match interview with BBC Hereford and Worcester, Graham Turner admitted that the Bulls had been out-muscled by Crewe this afternoon.

"They were physically too strong for us," said the Hereford United manager. "We had problems defending the set-pieces.

"We saw them a fortnight ago but today they were bigger, stronger today with the personnel they put in the side.

"They didn't leave the opposition the sort of room I was expecting so we were basically out-muscled particularly from set-pieces.

"It took some good saves from Peter to keep us in the game and then when we got the equaliser against the odds I felt we might have hung on. It was a poor winning goal that we conceded.

"Overall we have to hold our hands up, we were beaten by a side that were superior to us today."

Turner was pleased with the resilance of his players to get a goal.

"But I would liked to have seen us a little bit stronger, a little bit more forceful in our play.

"If we are going to be out-muscled then what we have to do is get the ball down and pass it. We didn't do that as often as we might have done especially going across mid-field where we have good players."

As ever Turner will 'take stock on Monday'.

"Hope that people are going to be fit, we've got Dean Beckwith and Andy Williams both missing today and Josh Gowling. Febian has had a knock on the ankle. It was a pre-caution as much as anything. It was a bit physical for him today, we hope he will be fit on Tuesday."
