The players involved in the Accrington-Bury betting probe have been banned from football for up to a year.
James (Jay) Harris received a one year ban and a £5,000 fine, David Mannix a 10 month ban and £4,000 fine, Robert Williams a 8 month band and £3,500 fine, and Andrew Mangan a 5 month ban and £2,000 fine.
Williams' future at Accrington was hanging on the outcome of the FA inquiry and will now not be offered a new deal. Mannix has been in Greece trying to earn a deal after leaving Chester in the summer, while Harris was still under contract at the Deva. Mangan was a standout performer for Forest Green and had been interesting League sides but will not play again until January.
Harris was also found guilty of betting on other matches while a Chester player, and received a further £500 fine. The FA statement on the matter declares: 'The Regulatory Commission has serious concerns that the outcome of the match may have been fixed although none of the players were charged with these offences.'
Peter Cavanagh, who was charged over a £5 accumulator, will hear his fate at a later date while the other player charged, Leighton McGivern, was seperately charged with failing to co-operate with the inquiry and also has his verdict pending.
