Bulls To Face Jevons And Craney

Opening day opponents Morecambe have strengthened their squad with the double signing of striker Phil Jevons and attacking midfielder Ian Craney.

The pair have joined on loan from Huddersfield for the season. Jevons, 29, cost Grimsby £250,000 in 2001 before moving on to Yeovil where he scored 45 times in 95 games. He ended last season on loan at Bury, scoring twice in nine games. Craney, 27, made his name at Accrington before six-figure moves to Swansea and the Terriers.

Meanwhile Darlington are expected to still be in Administration when the season starts. The are able to exit Administration, under the rules, tomorrow once the appeals deadline passes, but the Football League board does not meet again to ratify their plans until August 13, five days after the season starts. Until then they will be unable to sign players.
