Exploratory Surgery for Purdie

Rob Purdie is to go into hospital tomorrow morning for 'exploratory surgery'. The former Hereford United player is reported to have a 'stomach muscle problem'.

Oldham manager Dave Penney said: "Rob is to undergo minor surgery which we hope will help sort out what has been troubling him."

26 year old Purdie who recently left Darlington to move to Boundary Park has yet to take part in any pre-season friendlies for his new club.
