Cheltenham have signed veteran striker Barry Hayles on a one year deal, and given Julian Alsop terms on a non-contract basis. 37 year old Hayles joins after a loan spell with the Robins last season, scoring four times in 13 games. Alsop, 36, rejoins the Robins after a six year absence. His career was blighted by a banana related incident that saw him sacked from Oxford, and he has recently been playing four divisions below the League. Transfer listed midfielder John Finnegan is holding talks with Newport and Kidderminster over possible moves.
Bournemouth hope to win a further stay of execution over the winding up proceedings still ongoing from the taxman this week after keeping up to the agreed payment schedule. Two other companies have attached themselves to the petition for other sums owed by the Cherries. Charlton could move into Administration with rumours at the weekend that their proposed takeover is to collapse. They owe £40million, with the prospective bidders apparently happy to take a ten point hit in exchange for slashing the debts.

Grimsby have signed 35 year old keeper Nick Colgan on a two year deal. His last senior appearance was nearly two years ago, acting as an understudy at Ipswich and Sunderland. Luton have paid £60,000 to loan striker Liam Hatch from Peterboro, Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has disclosed. The Hatters will also pay £175,000 for him next summer.
