Former Bulls striker Tim Sills reckons he has nothing to prove as he embarks on a third attempt at League football with Torquay.
In between 90 goals in four and a half seasons in the Conference, Sills managed just three goals in 49 League matches with the Bulls and Oxford but he tells the Herald Express that he has no pressure to prove his critics wrong: "I haven't got anything to prove to anybody else.
"The only pressure I'll be under will be from the pressure I put on myself. When I went into the League with Oxford, I joined a club which was struggling more than I realised. They had also just sold their two best wingers, so there weren't too many crosses coming in.
"Hereford had just been promoted to the League, but they were more concerned about staying there than pushing on. But it was a frustrating time there, because I wasn't playing badly — I just wasn't scoring goals.
"I will go into the League now a lot more confident. When you go to a new club, there's always the extra pressure of bedding in and proving things — to the fans, the manager and the other players. That's not the case now. The manager here knows how to help me get goals and get the best out of me.
"I do set standards for myself, but I haven't got outside pressures. And I'm not going to set targets either. Even last season I started slowly in terms of goals, but I still ended up with 21."
