Preview: Grimsby vs Bulls

The Bulls travel to Blundell Park, Cleethorpes, looking for their first win of the season in League Two.

The Bulls have lost both their trips to Blundell Park since returning to the League, going down 2-1 both times. In the game between the two the Bulls won 2-0 at Edgar Street during the day celebrating the promotion to League One. In their first League stint the Bulls only lost once in six trips.

Grimsby have lost all three League matches so far this season, and have an injury list that wipes out nearly half their squad. Last Saturday's reverse to Port Vale was the third 4-0 scoreline they'd been on the wrong end of this season, with the trip of home defeats being watched by sucessively smaller crowds. Much travelled striker Barry Conlon, with three of their four goals this season, will miss the game through suspension leaving only midfielder Peter Sweeney as a scorer this season.

The Bulls will be without Jonny Godsmark, while Darren Dennehy remains the most serious doubt. A blank midweek for the first time in the season will have eased a number of the minor niggles that has forced John Trewick to shuffle the pack. Tristan Plummer and Marc Pugh have been keeping the Bulls in goals, leaving experienced pair Lee Morris and Leon Constantine somewhat in the shade.

Grimsby Town vs Hereford United, Blundell Park, Saturday 12th September, 3.00pm.
