Graham Turner and several supporters were interviewed on behalf of Johnstone's Paints before last night's Trophy game
"I have often said what a good competition the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is. Anyone who has been involved in a Wembley final will testify just what a great occasion an appearance at Wembley is," said Turner.
"It presents a great opportunity to get to a major final. We should also respect those supporters who pay their admission money and to the sponsors Johnstone's Paints, who put a considerable amount of money into it."
Fans in Radford's bar at the ground were in agreement before kick-off. Matt Ripley of Ross-on-Wye agrees. He said: "Silverware is silverware. It would be a great honour to win this competition. Graham Turner deserves a lot of credit for getting the club to where it is now, and competing in competitions like the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. He has been fantastic."
Mark Burgess of Ross said: "We are looking forward to the game. Who knows how far we can go in the competition, but we will give anyone a good game, particularly here at Edgar Street."
Eddie and Joy Ruck travelled to the match from Yarpole, Herefordshire, with Eddie Hughes of Kinlet, and Dave Ingram of Monmouth. Eddie Ruck said: "We have been coming here since the 1950s when we'd climb trees to watch the game and the pitch was like a ploughed field. Things have changed a bit since then."
Eddie Hughes added: "If there was no Graham Turner, there would be no Hereford United. If we can stay mid table, we will be happy, and a nice run in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy would be perfect."
Steve Pearce and Richard Adams made the journey from Malvern to see the game. Richard said: "We definitely want a good run in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. It would be ideal, but we know there are some good teams still involved.
"If we can get one of them here, then we definitely have a chance. To get to Wembley would be a great day out for everyone. It is the English heaven of football."
Sarah Lovelock of Brimfield said: "I love the JPT! We don't want an early exit. We want to go all the way."
And Chris Dalton of Coventry, a season ticket holder, said: "The trophy gives us a distraction from the league, which is a good thing. We can all enjoy the game knowing that three points are not at stake, and it is the best chance of winning some silverware that we will get, so let's push on!"
