FL Seek Police Cost Justification

After the quarterly meeting last month, the Football League is seeking for the Police to justify their charges for games.

They have submitted a request, under Freedom of Information, to each Force to detail their requirements for matches for each League side - and to justify the charges and requirements. The move comes after clubs across the board confirmed at the meeting that Police charges were rising significantly throughout the country without any apparent need.

Meanwhile FL Chairman Brian Malwhinney has called for FIFA to exclude the League from the transfer window in a keynote speech to the Leaders In Football conference in London: "I cannot believe that a player transfer tomorrow between Peterborough and Accrington Stanley or Wolverhampton Wanderers would be likely to cause sleepless nights in Rome, Madrid or Barcelona. But the freedom to do so might reduce sleepless nights in Wycombe, Reading or Burnley."
