Port Vale have confirmed the retirement of defender Sam Stockley on medical grounds. On-loan striker Jamie Guy has been charged with racially agrivated behaviour after an incident two weeks ago. He will face court in January, after his loan spell with the club finishes. Burton hope to finalise a permanent deal for goalkeeper Artur Krysiak after agreeing terms with Birmingham.

Crewe have confirmed the signing of Bristol Rovers keeper Steve Phillips on a two month loan with a view to a permanent deal. He leaves Shrewsbury, who are likely to rely on youngster Chris Neal with regular stopper Glyn Garner still injured, after a two month spell there. Rochdale midfielder Nathan Stanton faces a four match ban after being sent off for the second time this season in their match with Bournemouth.

Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin is to quit his role after nearly 18 years. His wife is to also leave her role as club secretary and the Vice Chairman is also leaving the club. The club faces a severe cash crisis and have appointed local businessman Tony Roach as their new chairman. The club have sent two more players to Peterboro on trial. Southend have been approached by a consortium who want to buy the club for £1 and clear the debts before they slip into Administration.

Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker says the club do want to resolve the Martin Allen situation this week. On Friday he told the press he didn't see a resolution before the coming FA Cup match, but the weekend loss to Crewe seems to have forced his hand when he told the BBC: "We've got a massively important game in the FA Cup and we've got to try and do something quick." Bournemouth midfielder Mark Molesley is to be out until the New Year after requiring surgery on a foot injury.

Ex-Bull Tamika Mkandawire needed six stitches and suffered concussion in scoring the opener for Leyton Orient against Southampton at the weekend. The O's hope he is fit for their FA Cup match this weekend. Departed Aldershot director Leighton Moat says he was pushed out after a number of directors who had promised to leave the club refused to do so. Moat says he is the biggest living investor in the club, after the late John McGinty, and was to invest further funds but will not do so now.

Chester chairman Ian Anderson has told the BBC the club is up for sale 'for the right offer'. Anderson insists that the club is owed more by the footballing authorities than it owes to clubs and their current threat of expulsion will be resolved by the November 16th deadline. Crewe have announced that keeper Bertrand Bossu has quit the club, just six days after signing a two month deal. The Frenchman's departure is likely to be linked to the earlier arrival of Steve Phillips.
