Graham Turner has told the official site that they have applied for the grants to build the new Blackfriars End stand.
But things are moving slowly, with a series of committees for the application to pass through, with Turner saying: "I gave the target of the start of next season but, with a bit of luck, the end of this season. That's looking very optimistic for the end of this season.
"Once planning consent has been granted I think things can move very rapidly."
