Shrewsbury to offer Tickets for Troops

Shrewsbury Town are to offer 'Tickets for Troops' starting with their home game against Grimsby Town.

The troops will walk around the pitch ahead of the game before be being presented to their fans. They will then form a 'guard of honour' for the two teams.　

'Tickets for Troops' aim is for tickets to be made available to soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. All serving military personnel and any veterans who have been medically discharged through injury since 2001 qualify for tickets.

"Tickets for Troops is an excellent initiative and one which the club will do all it can to promote," said a Shrewsbury spokesman.

"Serving personnel will be able to obtain a ticket for a home game by presenting their warrant card at the ticket office ahead of a game."
