Preview: Bulls vs Lincoln

The Bulls have a second crack at playing Lincoln in a League Two match on Tuesday night.

After the original effort to play this match was abandoned before Christmas, the two sides have had differing fortunes. Honours have been even between the two sides since the Bulls returned to the League, with two wins apiece. In the last meeting at Edgar Street, in December 2007, Theo Robinson, Trent McClenahan, and Ben Smith scored the goals to give the Bulls a 3-1 win. Overall the Bulls have beaten the Imps just six times in 32 League meetings.

For the Bulls, the fortunes have gone downhill since December 19th. Just one goal scored in four matches, and one point from twelve, underlines the inability of the Bulls to put the ball into the net. It's not a lack of posession, having dominated the ball in every one of those four games, and they've won more corners than the opposition each time. The results of the transfer deadline day business may dictate the course of the rest of the season - and the size of the gate on Tuesday night with a club record low looming on the horizon.

The Imps have seen a steep upturn in form since the postponement that has seen them storm clear of the drop zone, winning three of their four games since. Only last Tuesday's single goal reverse to Burton has dented their rise after boss Chris Sutton made a string of changes to his inhereted squad. Of the team against Burton, seven had been brought to the club by Sutton with an eighth man, defender Paul Green, returning from a lengthy injury spell to help transform the under-par side.
