Preview: Lincoln vs Bulls

The Bulls travel to Lincoln on Friday for their first League Two match under caretaker boss Graham Turner.

It is barely six weeks since John Trewick fielded a side that beat the Imps 2-0 at Edgar Street thanks to a Gavin McCallum double. On their last trip to Sincil Bank the Bulls had a man advantage for an hour but still managed to lose 2-1 with a Dany N'Guessan double overcoming Gary Hooper's solitary strike. Overall, the Bulls have won only once in 15 trips to Sincil Bank when a Steve Guinan hat-trick helped them to a 4-1 win in February 2007.

The Imps have undergone wholesale changes since the arrival of rookie boss Chris Sutton but the results have seen little improvement, winning just one of the last ten games. They remain just eight points clear of local rivals Grimsby, and the relegation places, with goals still a problem. They have averaged less than a goal a game so far this season, with on loan midfielder Chris Herd top scorer of their current squad with just four goals.

Early word on the street is that the departure of John Trewick has gone down well with the squad at Edgar Street. While little may change tactically for the Bulls, some of those that seemed to be phoning in performances under the previous management may want to start chasing new deals now the axe has fallen - although Kenny Lunt's immediate future appears to still be up in the air due to his reported illness.

Lincoln City vs Hereford United, Sincil Bank, Friday 12th March, 7.45pm.
