Turner reflects on Bournemouth Performance

Hereford United manager Graham Turner has given his views on last night's game at Bournemouth.

"For the first half hour I thought we were going well," Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We had a good start with three strikes in the first ten minutes and then the penalty which gave them a start and settled the crowd.

"We may well have gone in one each with the one that hit the post but the second goal kills you off.

"It was a bad goal from our point of view. I was just about to make the substitution (of Sam Gwynne) before the mistake.

"Against a very powerful and direct side I thought we coped well at the back in the main."

Hereford pulled a goal back in injury time through Marc Pugh.

"He took it very well and had it been five minutes earlier we might have just got them twitching a bit but it wasn't to be," commented Turner.

The manager also said that striker Mathieu Manset had not been in the squad because of a slight groin strain.

"We didn't want to risk him, we hope he'll be fit for the weekend."

When Jake Jervis was subbed he didn't appear too happy and kicked out at a kit bag before taking his seat in the dug-out.

"I honestly didn't see it, I was watching the game, the dug-out was behind me.

"But we have to be disappointed sometimes with our front play. We did look as though we might have got ourselves into one or two good positions late in the game when we changed it. If he has I'm disappointed."
