West Brom have opted to send former Bulls loanee Lateef Elford-Alliyu to Iceland to toughen him up.
The youngster lasted just one game with the Bulls and appeared to be out of his depth. Baggies Academy manager Mark Harrison told the Birmingham Mail that he was sending Elford-Alliyu and two others to Iceland's summer league to get him experience and more maturity:
"We sent Paul Downing and Lateef out on loan in this country and they came back and said you don’t get your food provided, you have to wash your own kit and the training pitches are tough. Not only are the boys in Iceland being taken out of their comfort zone, they are actually being put into a totally different culture.
"Hopefully they will come back more mature and experienced – ready for that big wide world where they will hopefully go out on loan to a League One or Two club."
Elford Alliyu will spend the bulk of the summer with Keflavik, who were a mid-table side in 12 team top flight last term.
