In an interview with the official website, Graham Turner has said that one of the four interested parties has almost completed due dilligence on the sale of shares.
Turner says that he believes everything they have seen in the process has been positive. Three other parties are reported to have done background work on the club, but are yet to get their hands on the books. Turner added that there could be progress over the next 4-5 days with the most advanced bidders discussing matters with their legal team, and meetings scheduled with two of the other bidders.
Turner also said that the tenders for demolition of the Blackfriars End were beginning to come in. The club wants demolition to begin at the start of June, with the process expected to take a month.
Here's part of the interview:
"We've continued to talk to the parties. There's one group that has been in on four occasions, almost completed their due diligence and I think everything has been positive. So that is progressing.
"We've got three other parties interested who have checked everything at Companies House but haven't come in the club yet to start due diligence.
"It is a drawn out process I realise that but it is making progress.
"I'm doing everything I can to make sure that there is a smooth handover.
As regards the sale of the shares Turner pointed out that it would be the sooner the better for everyone.
"I don't think we can put a time on it. The next four days could be important. Further talks with two of the parties and the group that have already done their due diligence have gone back to their legal team and there could be progress over the next four of five days.
"The tenders for demolition of the Blackfriars Stand are beginning to come in. We have given them a deadline of the beginning of June to start demolition. It's thought it will take a maximum of a month.
"The Football Foundation has the right to be present when those tenders are opened. We look forward to that with interest.
