Canadian Coach Advises Dunfield To Leave

The Canadian national team coach has advised Shrewsbury midfielder Terry Dunfield to quit the club and seek a higher level of football elsewhere.

It is a bad omen for the Bulls' hopes of keeping Gavin McCallum, who was in the same Canadian squad as Dunfield when the pair played against Venezuela recently.

The coach allegedly told Dunfield to seek a better level of football, somewhere in Europe, much to Graham Turner's disgust: "I was far from happy with the player basically implying this club and English League 2 football was not good enough for him.I am also unhappy with the Canadian coach who supposedly advised him to look for a new club."

Dunfield will join Kelvin Langmead in leaving the club after Langmead expressed an interest in joining Peterboro, with Turner adding: "I want, in this club, players who are committed to the cause, here and are prepared to devote their time and energies to bringing some long awaited success to the club. Both players had to go. Replacements will be signed who want to be a part of life at the Greenhous Meadow."
