'Highly-placed' sources at Conference club Newport County have told the South Wales Argus that rumours about manager Dean Holdsworth being one of the three candidates for a similar job at Hereford United are without substance.
Holdsworth has one year left on his contract at Spytty Park. However the club admits that it wants to reach a new deal with Holdsworth as currently it doesn't not contain a clause which would maximise any compensation should Holdsworth leave for another club.
Holdsworth is currently on holiday according to the paper.
