Decent Backbone for New Manager says Keyte

Having agreed new deals for both Ryan Green and Kenny Lunt in the last two days, Hereford United chairman David Keyte has said that the squad is beginning to take shape.

And he appears hopeful of further deals for two more defenders.

"Richard Rose is away on holiday at the moment and I have spoken to Darren Jones’ agent," Keyte told the Hereford Times.

"There is a decent backbone which the incoming manager will have."

Keyte spoke about his first few days in charge at Edgar Street.

"It has been an enjoyable start and we have had a lot of messages and calls from well-wishers.

"I had a message from a person from Bromsgrove who had found out from his mother in Barbados.

"I also had a message from a chap who said he would be getting a season ticket for the first time in around 10 years."

Finally Keyte confirmed that there will be a tribunal over the fee for Mark Pugh.

"There will be a tribunal over the fee for Marc Pugh because he’s under-24 and the fee offered by Bournemouth was not enough."
