Simon Davey has told the Evening Gazette it was an offer from an American company to coach in the US that made him quit Darlington, not an offer from the Bulls.
In a lengthy interview Davey says the offer, while he was coaching for Paul Scholes over the last couple of weeks, triggered his decision to quit. He defends his actions in quitting 'by email', but he waits until the end of the interview to discuss 'other clubs':
"Finally, since my resignation, I've very recently had a number of clubs make enquiries through my agent. So I've got a lot to think about with regards to my future."
