Manager Appointment Getting Closer

Hereford United's new vice-chairman, Tim Russon, has said that he has surprised at the level of interest in the vacant managers job at Edgar Street.

"We've been bowled over by the number and also the quality," Russon told BBC H&W.

"There are five or six managers out there and players and coaches that you would be happy with but it's a question now of just putting the final touches to the search.

"While we are not seeing everybody, I am talking to a lot of people who have phoned up and I am sounding them out about how they might fit into Hereford.

"We've got a rough idea of what we're looking at but it is a question of making sure that we've gone through the whole field that is available.

"We've got time now as we are settling in so let's just make sure it is the right person.

"He needs to be right for the team and everything needs to gel together."
