The Bulls will make another step towards naming their new manager today.
With the third candidate for the job now back in the country, the new board will be mulling over their choices with an appointment likely before the weekend. Fans have been speculating about the identities of the three challengers since last Friday's press conference revealed details of the applicants.
The man currently employed at a higher level has been variously claimed to be Lennie Lawrence, Paul Mariner, Gary Ablett, and Brian Horton. The Conference manager is rumoured to be either Cambridge's Martin Ling, one of the Holdsworth brothers at Newport and Mansfield, or York's Martin Foyle, while the rookie boss has provided a wide collection of ex-internationals from Dennis Bergkamp to ex-Bull Steve Bull.
With the expression of needing an experienced man at the helm several of the names mentioned appear to be ruled out, while Tim Russon's links to Midlands sport lead some to suggesting the ex-Oxford manager Brian Horton, and Horton's former player there Martin Foyle, could be front-runners.
