News Round Up

Stockport's takeover has finally been confirmed, with the first act of the new owners being to dispense with the services of Gary Ablett as manager. Jim Gannon is expected to be confirmed as his replacement, although the new regime say they are to start the quest for a new boss immediately. The club had been in Administration for 14 months.

Gillingham have announced the signings of young strike pair Stefan Payne and Andrew White, both 19. Ex-Fulham man Payne scored 10 in 23 games for Sutton to earn a move to Craven Cottage, while White leaves Reading after a series of loans at Conf South level. Bury say they have agreed a compensation fee for defender Ryan Cresswell after he agreed a move to Rotherham.

After nicking their Conference place, Forest Green have also nicked Salisbury's goalkeeper with James Bittner moving to the Gumpers. Portsmouth have had their CVA proposal accepted by creditors, but the taxman says it will consider a challenge. The CVA says they are owed £24million, but the taxman says it is £37million - enough to block any CVA vote.
