Gradi salutes Turner

69 year old Dario Gradi and 63 year old Graham Turner, the two longest serving managers in League Two, go head to head this evening and Gradi has praised Turner success in the game.

"It's the players who are the important people in these games. It's not so much the managers pitting themselves against each other," said Crewe manager Gradi as reported by This is Stafford

"But Graham has been there and done it and he won't be struggling at Shrewsbury because he has some good players. This will be a tough game for us.

"I'm surprised Graham has gone back to Shrewsbury. I didn't think he'd be able to sell his shares at Hereford and I was surprised he decided he wanted to be a manager again.

"He's gone back home because that's where he started out, so he'll have fond memories of the club.

"He did a terrific job at Hereford as chairman and effectively saved the club.

"But having spoken to him, he admits he finds it very strange not being chairman."
