With Bulls loanee Rob Purdie keen on proving his worth at Edgar Street, parent club Oldham seem equally keen on allowing him to leave.
The Boundary Park outfit have five players on the transfer list and admit a need to cut costs after the 'financial disaster' of losing their First Round FA Cup match to Accrington. Chief Executive Alan Hardy told the local press the club had to find deals to offload their unwanted players in January:
"Before anybody comes in, there are going to be some players going out either on loan or permanently. We've got a number out on loan at the moment, but they’re all due to come back in January. And if we're not able to get them out again, then it just makes it more difficult to bring new blood in."
Hardy says a board meeting in two weeks time will look to cut costs with the club still seeking new investment, after owners Simon Blitz and Danny Gazal withdrew their funding in the summer, and the subject of the five unwanted players is likely to be high on the agenda.
