News Round Up

Plymouth have been given nine weeks to find £780,000 owed to the taxman when they met in the High Court today. The Pilgrims told the court they expected to receive £500,000 investment from one source, and would sell players in January. Former Bulls trialist Jon-Paul Kissock has signed for Southport on non-contract terms. The former Everton trainee played for the Bulls at Telford in July, but has been playing for Formby Town.

Gillingham are expected to complete the signing of former Blackpool utility man Joe Martin on non-contract terms. Martin is the son of West Ham legend Alvin, and has been without a club since leaving the Tangerines in the summer. Mansfield will play their FA Trophy game at Ilkeston. Although technically an away game, it was due to be played at Field Mill on Police advice until the bailiffs arrived.

Our first Conference opponents, Welling United, have been given two weeks to find £60,000 to meet an unpaid tax bill. The Wings beat the Bulls 2-1 in our Conference debut but are now a Conf South side. Farnborough are also under a transfer embargo after missing a tax payment. Ex-Bull Nicky Nicolau has signed for Boreham Wood from Dover. The permatanned utility man scored twice on his debut for the Conf South side on Tuesday night as they beat Weston 6-3.
