A Day Out At Hillsborough

Close to 2,000 Hereford United supporters made the trip to Hillsborough today, probably the biggest away support since the Conference play-off at Leicester. For those who hadn't been before the stadium had a unique character about it.

Some 18 coaches and mini-buses were counted close to the ground, many more fans came on trains especially from both Hereford and London. And, of course, others drove.

Car parking was easy and well organised. And for those of us who had to purchase tickets, the office was both helpful and efficient. A lesson some others club could learn.

The Owls shop was well laid out as expected for a club of this size.

They aim to attract fans from a very early age.

Hereford supporters were housed in the Upper Tier of the West Stand.

The Herefordshire press were out in force.

Ian Morgan of the Hereford Times, pictured, was one looking for photo opportunities.

Inside the ground, the pitch looked wider then many which seemed to help the Owls.

One disappointment was the empty stand to the left of the away end.

As the Bulls took it the pitch there was tremendous noise from the travelling support..

And even when the Bulls went behind the noise continued.
