A Few Choice Words in Robin's Dressing Room

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has revealed that that a few choice words were uttered in the Robin's changing room after this afternoon's game against Hereford United.

"I don't go over the top too often but I feel like the players have let me down and they know that," said Yates as reported on the Cheltenham OS.

"I'm a little lost for words and I won't come out here to slaughter them but they know exactly what I think.

"I didn't think we were actually that bad in the first half but we talked about stepping it up in the second and that didn't happen. We were beaten by long balls that we should never be beaten by.

"Junior (Smikle) has got a broken nose and he was getting a lot of headaches so we had to take him off. The other two changes were tactical because, at 2-0 down, we needed to change something.

"We haven't struggled for width away from home or in the last few weeks and we've managed to get crosses in and score. I know exactly what people are talking about when they say width but Hereford played the same system as us today and they did it a lot better.

"My performance today was bad because I obviously picked the wrong team but we need to be man enough to do something about it."
