News Round-Up

Shrewsbury striker Jake Robinson says he learned of his release from the club's website rather than being told personally. He later told the Shropshire Star he had expected the news. Stockport midfielder Greg Tansey has completed his move to Inverness, meaning the Hatters will not receive a fee for the 22 year old.

Accrington appear to be on the verge of losing striker Terry Gornall with MK Dons and Crewe confirming interest in the 21 year old. He scored 13 times for Stanley last season, often playing as a lone striker. Gillingham have confirmed interest in signing Peterboro duo Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee. The pair had a month on loan at Priestfield back in November, but the Posh require fees for both of them.

Southend boss Paul Sturrock has denied press speculation linking him to the Torquay job. He has been rumoured to be in the running on the back of his two spells in charge at Plymouth. Newly elected Port Vale director Mark Sims says he may reject the offer to join the board if the club's finances don't stand up to his scrutiny. He will spend the next ten days examining the finances at Vale Park before making a decision.

Aldershot have announced the signings of Newport utility man Jamie Collins and released Charlton keeper Ross Worner. Collins, 26, is a former Watford trainee but has spent most of his career in non-league while Worner, 21, played 11 times for the Addicks last term. AFC Wimbledon have signed Rushden midfielder Max Porter. The 23 year old has three England 'C' caps, scoring twice.

Stockport have been warned by the FA over two pitch invasions towards the end of the Football League campaign. The Hatters will not take action themselves over the incidents, the second of which saw fans hold up play for ten minutes as they protested against the running of the club. Ex-Bull Michael McIndoe is reported to be in talks with MK Dons. The 31 year old had a loan spell with the franchise side last term, but his wage demands are claimed by the local press to be too rich for the club.

Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker has told the BBC the deal signed by striker Wesley Thomas at Crawley is 'staggering' and 'he wouldn't get that at a lot of clubs in League One.'
