Port Vale's future remains in the air after the club were left with an incomplete board following today's EGM.
Shareholders passed a motion of no-confidence in the existing five man board but then only removed two of them when a lengthy voting process was undertaken, with under-fire chairman Bill Bratt retaining his place by just a couple of percentage points. Mo Chaudry ally Mark Sims was the only person to be successfully added to the board, leaving the four men insufficient to conduct the business of the club under its own constitution.
The remaining board members issued a statement later confirming Sims' addition while offering the North London Valiants, the group that orchestrated the EGM, to nominate someone to make up the five man board.
However the biggest barrier to Mo Chaudry's takeover, the maximum 24.9% shareholding rule, remains in place after insufficient shareholders backed calls to remove it.
