Forest Green look for a Striker

Forest Green Rovers are reported to be looking for a striker to replace Robbie Matthews who returns to Newport County on September 19.

With Jamie Pitman's close ties with the Grumpers there is speculation that Sean Canham has been offered to them by Hereford United, possibly on loan. Whether or not any agreement has been made remains to be seen.

Meanwhile following yesterday's news that Luton tried to sign Paul Benson from Dagenham it's also been revealed that FGR's Reece Styche turned down the chance to sign for Luton Town by committing himself to a new three-year deal at the Lawn.

Update 1.30pm: FOREST Green boss David Hockaday has signed striker Matty Taylor on a two year deal.

Taylor,21, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects outside the Blue Square Premier after smashing 40 goals for Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West outfit North Leigh last season.
