Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman feels that his squad is coming together despite injuries to key players recently.
"Last year we did ok against the bigger teams although obviously they (Shrewsbury) beat us twice," Pitman told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I firmly believe that we are a better side than we were last year although we have needed that little bit of patience.
"We have also needed that bit of luck on the injury front as I don't think people have appreciated sometimes we have gone into games with only 12 or 13 (fit) players.
"Now, with the young loan players and the injured players coming back, we have got a better squad in depth so that will be a massive help for us."
