There are 25 players on the books at Edgar Street at present. Add to that three who are out on loan makes 28 players that have to be paid all or part of their wages.
Interestingly, according to yesterday's match programme, Oxford have 22 players on their books.
Hereford travel to Swindon next Saturday and manager Jamie Pitman disclosed he would only have 14 players available. Which is just 50% of those being paid.
On the positive side, although Ryan Green missed yesterday's game he is expected to be fit by next Saturday and Pitman will have Simon Clist available. He couldn't play yesterday as he is on loan from Oxford.
On the negative side, loanee Will Evans will not take any part on Saturday as he is on loan from Swindon. Also missing are expected to be goalkeeper David Cornell and striker Delroy Facey. Both are likely to be on international duty.
Adam Bartlett, Benoit Dalibard, Danny Williams and Joe Colbeck are all out with injuries, whilst goalkeeping coach Russell Hoult is unlikely to play unless Pitman fails to bring in an emergency keeper.
So baring more problems, Pitman will have the following players to select from: Green, Heath, Pell, Townsend, Purdie, Featherstone, Arquin, Lunt, Mcquilkin, Clist, Barkhuizen, Stam, Winnall, and Elder. Just 14 players.
He may have to include at least one of the three juniors, Feeley, John or Perkins, just to make up the numbers.
