Hiring Paolo Di Canio was always going to make life interesting down in League Two.
Firstly, after Friday's 2-0 loss at Macclesfield, the Italian likened his Swindon players to Chihuahua's, saying he couldn't make one into a Rottweiler but he could make them 'proud Chihuahuas'. Now, he has told the BBC that he will instruct his players to dive to win penalties.
Speaking of an incident in the same game when former Bulls keeper Jose Veiga appeared to foul Robins winger Matt Ritchie, Di Canio said:
"From now on I will tell my players to dive. From now on I will bring in a different culture because this was a red card and penalty. I'd prefer that they risk getting a yellow card for simulation. My team are the only ones who do not dive somewhere around the field.
"It's not fair but it's the only way to receive something."
The Bulls travel to the County Ground on Saturday with two mongrels and a pup out on loan, an assortment of strays in isolation pounds, and a whippet with a slight limp.
