Goalkeeping Crisis at Yeovil

It's not only Hereford United that have a goalkeeping crisis ahead of next Saturday's FA Cup-Tie.

Opponents Yeovil are expected to be without their regular keeper Marek Stech who is on duty with the Czech Republic Under-21s. They play on Friday afternoon in Armenia, so getting back to play for the Glovers at Edgar Street on Saturday could be difficult.

It's not certain who will take Stech's place but there a strong possibility that it might be Yeovil's goalkeeping coach Gareth Stewart. However it's reported by Ciderspace that he has not played a competitive match at professional level since March 1st 2008.

Ciderspace have also reported that Yeovil are expected to be without several other players for the tie.

Watford loanee Gavin Massey has been blocked from playing by his parent club, whilst Chelsea midfielder Conor Clifford is expected to be playing for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, although they've yet to publish their squad for the game. Millwall defender Darren Purse has yet to be formally told what will happen next weekend, but he expects the Lions to block his participation.

Meanwhile winger Alan O'Brien is likely to be missing for a couple of weeks - although he limped his way through to the end of Saturday's match at Chesterfield, he has suffered a hamstring strain. Left-back Nathan Jones will also be a concern, given that his first half knee injury meant that he had to be replaced at the back. Gavin Williams and Steve MacLean will remain as long term absentees.
