Northampton boss Gary Johnson wants to axe ten players from his squad after admitting his summer transfer activity was not good enough. The former Yeovil boss has one out on loan, and two more transfer listed, and is expected to tell several more they are surplus to requirements. One of those is expected to be former Bulls loanee Nathaniel Wedderburn, who has made a solitary five minute substitute appearance this season.
Port Vale loanee Ben Williamson is expected to miss several weeks after damaging a knee in a reserve match on Monday. The striker is on a season long loan. Valiants midfielder Ryan Burge, a former Bulls trialist, is also set for a spell on the sidelines after doctors decided a knee problem that has restricted him to just two appearances this season needs surgery. Bradford say their development squad will continue after the departure of it's head yesterday.
Plymouth have promoted youth coach Kevin Nancekivell to work with the first team. Cambridge have lost an appeal with the FA over player Steven Connors. The U's terminated his two year contract just five weeks into pre-season after claiming he failed to disclose a pre-existing medical condition, but the player was reinstated by the Conference before the club appealed to the FA.
Plymouth have signed Blackpool defender Paul Bignot on a three month loan. The 25 year old is yet to play for the Tangerines since a summer move from Newport. Barnet have loaned defender Mauro Vilhete to Hendon for an initial month. The 18 year old has made only three first team sub appearances this season.
