The news that defender Andy Todd has left Hereford United was broken by Keith Hall on BBC Hereford and Worcester.
Todd had formed a useful partnership with Stefan Stam but was said to be 50/50 for this afternoon's game after collecting a dead leg at Torquay last Saturday.
"I understand he is leaving the club," Hall reported.
"He can't be guaranteed regular first team football here at Hereford.
"He's done very well in the month that he has been here but my understanding is that he couldn't get the guarantee that he was really searching for from the management team.
"So he has left the club."
Later Gary Peters confirmed that Todd had left the club.
"We were able to get him in for a month and he's done a brilliant job. We couldn't ask for anyone to do better.
"But it's short term thing and we've got to look for the future.
"He came at a time when Ryan Green was unavailable and Ryan is doing a great job for us.
"It's not fair to keep a player like Andy Todd if he's not playing in your side.
"We shall always be greatful for the job Andy Todd has done."
